From grandfather to granddaughter and from mother to daughter, the Étienne Sauzet estate works wonders. With eight hectares, it produces some of the best white wines in Burgundy.

Henri Boillot is the 5th generation of the family estate. No weedkillers, no insecticides, the estate uses the « lutte raisonnée » method. Known as an exceptional producer of white wines, his reds are just as remarkable.

Dominique Lafon has wines of a density and finesse that are hard to find. Without doubt, one of the great wine producers in Burgundy.

DOMAINE LAUNAY-HORIOT

The LAUNAY family had been in Pommard since the 18th century. Raymond Launay left this historical family estate to his grandson, Xavier HORIOT. Horiot was an air force pilot. The renamed Domaine Launay-Horiot,  Based in Pommard, but it also owns two cracking eponymous vineyards in Gevrey-Chambertin, Latricières-Chambertin and Chambertin itself ! And some excellent Pommard 1er Cru, including some Les Rugiens Bas. In terms of vinification Xavier is looking to be as gentle with his grapes as he can be, focussing on expressing the fruit and the terroir as naturally as possible.

Monthélie

DOMAINE MONTHéLIE DOUHAIRET PORCHERET

This small family winery is located in the village named Monthélie since 320 years. They work on 6,5 hectares of appellations ex : Volnay, Monthelie, Pommard and Meursault, and has different climates in the village and 1er cru.

Ms. Cataldina LIPPO becomes owner in 2004 after retrait of his grandfather Andre Porcheret  who was regisseur hospices beaune 1 /1976-1988 2/1993 to 1999 and Lalou bize Leroy 1988 to 1993. She attended school at the wine school of Beaune. In 2014 Mr. Vincent MONFORT graduated in sensory analysis joins the domain.

They give great importance and are very sensitive to the environment and are working in viticulture. Their soils are plowed, with the minimum of phytosanitary treatments. They perform checks in the vineyards for disease and parasites to treat only if necessary. The yields of the vine are controlled by severe disbudding which also allows selection of clusters.

Their winemaking is also traditional. The harvest is manual, in petty cash. Sorting is a very important step.

For red, the grapes are 100% destemmed and vinification in the open wooden vessel thermo.

For white, fermentation directly in was, where the wines are housed directly after pressing.

Wine is aged for 18 to 20 months for red and 15 to 18 months for whites. With 10% new French oak.
